Our Visit to The Sexton’s House

We went on a visit to The Sexton’s House in Abbeyleix.

The house belonged to Mrs. Mythen’s grandfather, Bill Galbraith, who was the sexton of the church for over 50 years.

We wandered round the old house and learned a little about its history. We talked about Bill, the important job he did for the church, and what life in the house might have been like long ago.

It was lovely to visit an old building in our local area and learn something new about the history of Abbeyleix.

We really enjoyed our visit to The Sexton’s House!
