- Third and Fourth Classes
This September has been very busy. The children have settled back into school. We have been busy conducting science experiments. We examined soil settling. The children learnt that stones will settle at the bottom, followed by soil and then water on the top of the surface. We also conducted an experiment on iron oxide. The children learned all about how the elements of nature cause rusting to occur. The class conducted a fair test to investigate whether or not salt speeds up the process of rusting. The results concluded that salt does in fact speed up the process of rusting.
- 'Teach the Class'
In June we completed a fun project called 'Teach the Class'. Every pupil had the opportunity to teach the class about a topic of their choice. We worked very hard researching topics, completing PowerPoints, organising worksheets and of course practising our public speaking skills by being the teacher for a few minutes. We learnt about a variety of topics including traditional music, world ocean day, baking, football skills, World War Two, music, horses, wild animals, art and even a Kelloggs history lesson with a taste test afterwards. Well done to Third and Fourth class who out so much time and effort into this project.
