- Winter Penguins 🐧
The children in third and fourth had fun creating 'Winter Penguins' for Art Class last week. Super work!
- Literacy Stations 📖
Last week we started Literacy Stations in our classroom. The children worked in four groups on different literacy activities, including grammar, punctuation, reading, creative writing, comprehension,etc. After fifteen minutes we swapped the tasks so all pupils got to work on the four given activities each day. This is working really well! Keep up the great work everyone!

We all had great fun during art class today. We created a beautiful piece of artwork using leaves. We used spray paint. It was great fun. We can’t wait to take off the leaves on Tuesday to see our finished designs.

The children in 3rd and 4th class really enjoyed the golf workshop this morning! ⛳️
- GAA with Dan ⚽️
We had a brilliant GAA practice with Dan this morning. Great fun! ⚽️
- Pompeii Creative Writing
3rd and 4th have been doing Report Writing for creative writing in English. Before mid term break they wrote some excellent reports on the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in Pompeii. They decorated them and rubbed them with a teabag to make them look old. Fantastic work!
- Erupting Volcanoes
The 3rd and 4th class pupils did a terrific job painting their paper mache volcanoes. For Science they created their own eruptions using baking soda, washing up liquid, vinegar and food colouring. Excellent work everyone!
- Italy Projects 🇮🇹
For the last two weeks before mid-term break 3rd and 4th class have been busy working on Italy projects for SESE. They worked on their projects both in class and at home. In their projects the children included information about Pompeii, food in Italy, sport in Italy, Venice, maps of Italy, and so much more! Well done everyone! Fantastic work!
- Fire Brigade Fun!
A huge thank you to the firemen from Abbeyleix Fire Station for coming to our school and showing us their fire engine and answering all our questions! Infants wanted to find out about hoses/pipes and cats stuck up trees! Thank you for engaging with all our classes.
- Halloween-y Spooky Parade!
Infants had so much fun today parading around the school in their costumes. The Senior pupils made a Guard of Honour for us to parade through! The costumes were just amazing, well done to all involved. We then cycled/scooted right down to the gate! We finished the day with some buddy reading with the Senior pupils.

We had great fun making a ghost and some slime today.
