This week during Gaeilge class we've been learning about 'An Cháisc' (Easter). Our theme this month in Gaeilge has been 'Mo Scoil' (My School). Go h-iontach ar fad!!

We enjoyed painting and decorating frames for our mums last week for Mother's Day. We wrote some lovely poems in the cards we made. We hope all the mums liked them!

We enjoyed World Book Day in school.

Super proud of all our pupils. They were absolutely brilliant performers.

Last week we started debating in our class as part of English- Persuasive Writing. Debating provides the opportunity to engage critical thinking skills and present ideas logically. It also helps pupils to improve their communication skills, including how they deliver their opinions. Our class have engaged really well with this and we have had many volunteers to get up and debate in front of their class on different topics, already. So far, we have debated on the topics of 'Zoos' and 'Homework', proposing / opposing the motion. We will continue to debate on different motions over the coming weeks.

We made Lucky Leprechauns for Art class last week ☘️

The children in third and fourth class created wonderful aeroplane models as part of their homework to go with the work in class they've been doing on The First Flight and aeroplanes. They wrote excellent news reports all about The First Flight and The Wright Brothers. Terrific work, everyone!

We love writing every day. We have lots of stories written. We have our free writing books and we are using Book Creator to draft our own storybooks. At present we have developed our skills in writing a recount. We plan first and then we write our recount in stages. First we complete our introduction (answering questions like Who? What? Where? and when?). Then we use the words First, Then, Next , After that and Finally to plan our paragraphs. We are getting really good at creating recounts. Teacher is very proud of us.

We hope the parents liked their Valentine's 'Message in a Bottle' gift and card. We really enjoyed making and writing them! 🩷

Self-esteem and self-love is a topic of conversation during all our SPHE classes this month. We completed a little activity all about who and what we love! ❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕 and we made some gifts for special people in our life. We all dressed up on Friday 14th February. All in all, it was a very special month in school.

After all the snow we were inspired to create a art piece entitled ’Winter Scene’.

Since the current theme for our wellbeing programme is self-love, we decided to incorporate this into our art lesson this week! 💛
