- Rás na mBan
Senior Infants joined Third and Fourth class at the school gates to support the women taking part in Rás na mBan. It is Ireland’s only women’s international stage race. We cheered and shouted as they passed! Thank you to Ms. Fingleton and her Third and Fourth class for making the fantastic sign!
- Infant School Tour
Infants had a fantastic day at Castleview Pet Farm! We enjoyed the sunshine with Ms. Galvin, Mr. Walsh and Ms. Jackson. Check out the pictures of us zooming around in cars and having fun with the animals.
- Our End of Year Service
We all enjoyed a beautiful service led by our Sixth Class pupils today. The pupils shared their memories of their time in school with us. Well done and best of luck to our Sixth Class pupils. Glascott Symes presented flowers to Mrs. O’Shaughnessy on behalf of the Board of Management and wished her well as she retires this year.
- Our Amber Flag Raising Day
On Tuesday 18th June pupils, teachers and parents of Abbeyleix South National School gathered to raise our first Amber Flag. The school celebrated the fantastic achievements and efforts of Mrs. Mythen (Amber Flag co-ordination), the Amber Flag Team and the whole school community. The flag was raised by Ben and Rory. We all had a super day.
- Bike Day for Juniors
We really enjoyed cycling our bikes in the school grounds today.
- Pizza Day
We made lovely pizza in school this week. Yummy!
- Our School Tour
We had a great day out at the ‘Let’s Go’ adventure tour in Kilcullen.

We all enjoyed a great Sports Day today.
- School Fair 2024
Our School Fair today made €1327.55! A huge thank you to the parents who supported our fair today, there were many children preparing for this for weeks. Thank you for helping with the baking, supplying the jellies and coming today! Thank you to all our staff who donated the fabulous hampers and a special thank you to Ms. Birch and Ms. Hogan for encouraging and helping our children create their fabulous stalls. Finally, to the children! Fifth and Sixth class have been talking about this form months. It is a huge day in their calendar and they certainly made it one to remember! Well done to you all. We, as staff, are very proud of all your efforts and creative, innovative ideas. Have a fabulous long weekend, Joanne Jackson

We really enjoy our training with Sylvia this morning.

In our Science Class this week we completed a soil study. We found out that soil is made up of layers. Sand to silt to clay and humus.
